X-officio Joins the eLTER EnRich Project to Support on Legal Formation and Distributed Operations

X-officio is excited to announce its participation in the eLTER EnRich project, in collaboration with the University of Helsinki and the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ), focusing on legal entity formation and distributed operations in WP 5 and 6.

This collaborative project aims to facilitate a successful application for the European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC).

The eLTER EnRich project aims to bridge the gap between the preparatory and operational phases of the eLTER ESFRI process, with the following key objectives:

  • Implementing a systems engineering approach to manage the complexity of the distributed Research Infrastructure’s (RI) System Architecture design more effectively, supporting agile management and decision-making.

  • Establishing a baseline skeleton RI, hosting initial core services to support core user groups. This serves as a foundation for further development during the operational phase of the eLTER RI.

  • Developing essential cyber infrastructure components and enhancing service capabilities through close cooperation with European Environmental Research Infrastructures (ENV-RIs).

  • Advancing the formalization efforts for establishing the eLTER ERIC.

  • Securing solid and sustainable commitments from service hosts and prospective ERIC Members.

  • Facilitating a seamless integration of eLTER projects with eLTER ERIC operations, enhancing expertise and human resources capacity, and bolstering user engagement within the RI.
